I post at SearchCommander.com now, and this post was published 19 years 5 months 15 days ago. This industry changes FAST, so blindly following the advice here *may not* be a good idea! If you're at all unsure, feel free to hit me up on Twitter and ask.
I read a blog here that was talking about MSN buying AOL, among other things. It made me realize how fast things can change in this industry!
This week, it was reported that Microsoft and Time Warner are in talks about some sort of buyout. That makes sense, because it would be the fastest way for Microsoft to increase their market share of search, chat, and general internet standing. Google has provided search results for AOL since 2002, and if they can get a jump Google, they’d almost be crazy not to if the price was right.
Well, that was nearly five days ago! Now Google has rolled up their sleeves, and they may make a bid too. since they just raised 4.2 billion dollars recently, with another rollout of stock, this may shape up to be a very interesting fight!
I never thought I’d hear myself say this, but… I wish I had a bunch of AOL stock!
