I post at SearchCommander.com now, and this post was published 9 years 10 months 22 days ago. This industry changes FAST, so blindly following the advice here *may not* be a good idea! If you're at all unsure, feel free to hit me up on Twitter and ask.
On Tuesday evening January 13th, 2015, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, I’m going to be on a panel of four local Portland internet marketing experts, where we are going to mercilessly rip apart strategically analyze various websites that the audience brings for us to review.
In addition to myself, we’ll have three more SEMpdx board members on the panel, Michael Cottam, Kevin Getch and Mike Arnesen, and we are committed to being both educational and entertaining.
Submit a Competitor?!?
We’ve done other Hot Seats over the years, but there’s always been an additional fee to get a site reviewed, and the review is usually limited to the on-page and off page ranking factors of that particular site.
I’ve participated in other site review sessions too, but invariably, the common denominator is that the site owner is the one having their site reviewed.
This time, however, ALL attendees are invited to submit sites, and they don’t have to be “owned” by the attendee. Attendees can can submit any site they wish for any reason, with no proof of ownership required.
- Want to know if a particular domain has been penalized? Submit the site.
- Want to know why a certain website outranks another? Submit the site.
- Want to better understand a competitors backlink profile? Submit the site.
- Want to know what someone spends on PPC and which are their best ads? Submit the site.
I can’t speak for the others on the panel, but the analysis tools that I’ll be using for my analysis will include some of the following…
- SpyFu
- SEM Rush
- Bright Local
- Moz
- SEO Automatic
- Others?
