I admit, I’m a gadget guy, and have now had three combo pda / cell phones and I have yet to find a perfect one.
Recently, (today maybe?) Microsoft rolled out the “Ultra Mobile PC”, and they might be just the thing I’ve been looking for.
I’m really tired of my clunky Palm Treo and all it’s quirks and the crummy reception, and the small keys for typing email. It does everything, just not all that well.
I really don’t want to shell out another $650 to be a guinea pig for the next generation of “we’ve almost got it right this time” pda / cell phones.
These are small enough to fit in a briefcase or large coat pocket, but large enough to watch movies, play games, or functionally use as a computer.
Since they run regular Windows XP, they’ll get on your network, get on the internet, and best of all, they’ll connect to your Bluetooth enabled cell phone for internet access.
Two years ago, I couldn’t wait to carry just one device. Now, Im thinking of going back to two…
